Selection and Hover pseudo class may deactivate after clicking

Reported by kennyft...@gmail.com, Jul 29 2017

Issue description

UserAgent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/59.0.3071.115 Safari/537.36

Steps to reproduce the problem:
JSFiddle: https://jsfiddle.net/shtddp5e/
Click on one of the items without moving your mouse, it might take a few clicks and you might need to move your mouse.

What is the expected behavior?
The hover and selection attribute stay active. (And the li element?)

What went wrong?
The selection and hover pseudo classes are inactive when they should be active. The pointer also disappears (the li class becomes deactivated?).

Did this work before? N/A

Does this work in other browsers? N/A

I am not able to repro this on Chrome 62.0.3173.2 using Windows 10. I think sometimes (rarely) I can see the cursor render incorrectly (as default instead of pointer), but I can't consistently repro that.

Requesting test confirmation.

Hmm, seems to be fixed now. I don't believe I changed anything, that is quite strange. It may have been a memory issue as there is some type of memory leak on my PC and it gets to 100% usage requiring a restart. I believe it was misbehaving before the restart...

The result of bisect-builds.py is:

You are probably looking for a change made after 442068 (known good), but no later than 442076 (first known bad).
