Display issues with Chrome 59 and USB TYPE C HUB |
||||||
Issue descriptionChrome Version: Google Chrome 59.0.3071.91 (Official Build) (32-bit What steps will reproduce the problem? (1) Plug in monitors with HDMI and DISPLAY PORT into USB TYPE C HUB Model: HP (2) Plug type-c cable in to Chromebook What is the expected result? Laptop display, and additional monitors all enabled. What happens instead? Laptop display turns black, and no login screen is visible. Note: On a Cave device on Chrome 58 with the same TypeC + 2 monitors this is not a problem. We also tried on Pixel2, and could not getting of the monitors to show as if there was no monitors+hub connected on Chrome 60. Logs for Chrome 59 Kevin device that consistently has issues with Type-C and unified desktop in drive folder below. https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/0B-094aXvU4bsekJmQ3JFekFWTFE?usp=sharing

On a Kevin Device on Chrome 58 the main display on the laptop goes blank, while the other external display are in Unified Desktop mode. This is unusable, because when you open settings or click on an app it seems to be attached to the laptop display and not visible.

Thanks for the report, aluong@. Can you post little more details? - What is the device that failed for the original issue(nothing on onboard screen while plugged to HDMI and DP monitors through HPelite dock). Is it Cave? - Was there picture on the external display(s)? - Did it happen immediately you connected the monitor(s)? What steps are involved? Any apps or content you had to interact with? - Is unified desktop ON? - What monitors are you using? - Can you generate logs or file a feedback for this board after disconnecting and getting the screen on? Can you file another bug for kevin, as it is a different issue?

Original devices were SAMUS on Chrome 59. I didn't see any external displays, as if it did not detect it. Samus on DEV 61.0.3163.13 works as expected. Laptop + External displays in unified desktop mode. I'll file a different bug for Kevin then with feedback report.

The description "I didn't see any external displays, as if it did not detect it." does not correspond to the original "Laptop display turns black, and no login screen is visible." Which one is the issue here for M59 samus?

Just tested it with SAMUS with 62.9852 + HP usb-c dock + two external monitors. Everything works just fine. If something doesn't work for you, please, be more specific.

I am experiencing this. Initially my office monitor worked and my home didn't and then the reverse. Home: VGA monitor <-> vga to displayport adapter <-> displayport to usb-C adapter <-> samsung chromebook Office: HDMI or Displayport monitor <-> HDMI cable <-> apple triple adapter <-> samsung chromebook

Could you, please, give me exact models of adapters you use? And what exactly "doesn't work" means? It's not detecting, it's detecting, but nothing is showing on a screen? |
