Issue descriptionUserAgent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Ubuntu Chromium/59.0.3071.109 Chrome/59.0.3071.109 Safari/537.36 Example URL: https://github.com/brianium/paratest/pull/272#issuecomment-318764720 Steps to reproduce the problem: 1. On the page there is a link that highlights "closes" followed by the issue number (#257). 2. it is an ordinary link (<a>) with a title attribute (title="...") 3, The title attribute is pre-formatted following the email-format (as this is a git commit - line-breaks at ca. 72 char or such). What is the expected behavior? It would be great - from visiual space there is enough room - if that line-breaking would not be shortened. What went wrong? as it (the wrapping of lines) currently is, the rendering in the tooltip breaks the lines. Does it occur on multiple sites: Yes Is it a problem with a plugin? No Did this work before? N/A Does this work in other browsers? N/A Chrome version: 59.0.3071.109 Channel: n/a OS Version: Linux blackshell 4.10.0-27-generic #30~16.04.2-Ubuntu SMP Thu Jun 29 16:07:46 UTC 2017 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux Flash Version: none it would be great if possible to somewhat hint the (native?) tool-tip functionality (perhaps an issue with the system library used to display tool-tips) to respect the line-breaks in that tool-tip up to a meaningful extend if the screen real-estate allows it for rendering (e.g. 72 characters). This would allow to display plain text (email) messages within a tool-tip w/o any further visual interruption.

Tested on Chrome Stable #60.0.3112.90 on Ubuntu 14.04 and able to reproduce the issue. This is a non-regression issue and able to reproduce from M-47 #47.0.2499.0. Marking it as untriaged so that issue gets addressed. Observations: 1. Issue is not observed on all the monitors, it is seen only on few models like “Dell 2407wfpb”. 2. In Windows and Mac after certain height text is not displayed and ellipsis(...) is displayed. 3. For Mac ellipsis is also not displayed. Thanks.

Archiving old bugs that haven't been actively assigned in over a year. If you feel this issue should still be addressed, feel free to reopen it or to file a new issue. Thanks! |
