Issue descriptionTHIS TEMPLATE IS FOR FILING BUGS ON THE ANDROID SYSTEM WEBVIEW. GENERAL WEB BUGS SHOULD BE FILED USING A DIFFERENT TEMPLATE! Jeannie Samsung Galaxy s6 Device name: SAMSUNG-SM-G920V Android version: 7.0 WebView version (from system settings -> Apps -> Android System WebView): 55.0.2883.91 Application: Android system webview Application version: 55.0.2883.91 URLs (if applicable): Android play store States that this app is a Beta version. Also states that it is disabled. So i go into Settings, Application manager, show system apps, and scrol down to see Android system webview, on the screen it does show disabled, although I did not disable it. When I open this up, the enable button is greyed out (diabled) however the force sto pbutton is enabled. How can you forcestop an app that has supposedly been disabled? I have no clue. Further, the storage states that there is 8.kb of data used, but 0kb of app. How is thus possible? The app shows up nowhere else on my phone. I am very confused at this point, and am about ready to delete as much of this app as my phone will allow. Sincerely; Jeannue Steps to reproduce: (1) (2) (3) Expected result: Actual result:

Hi Jeannue, in Android 7.0 the functionality of WebView is provided by Chrome application. The Android System Webview package that appears in the PlayStore is shown as disabled by design. Whenever you need to update the WebView, please install the latest version of Chrome. |
