Issue descriptionUserAgent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/60.0.3112.72 Safari/537.36 Steps to reproduce the problem: 1. Load an unpacked extension using developer mode on chrome://extensions 2. Exit the browser (Ctrl+Shift+Q) 3. Reopen the browser 4. Press "Read more" in the "Disable developer mode extensions" dialog that appears What is the expected behavior? I should be able to read more about what is mentioned in the dialog. What went wrong? chrome://extensions opens. I was not able to read more about what is mentioned in the dialog. Did this work before? N/A Chrome version: 60.0.3112.72 Channel: beta OS Version: 10.0 Flash Version: Searching the Google Chrome Help I found one relevant article the link might be supposed to open: https://support.google.com/chrome/answer/2811969

Tested on Google Chrome Stable #59.0.3071.115, reported Chrome #60.0.3112.72 and Canary on 62.0.3166.0 on Windows 10 & 7 and noticed that upon clicking on "Learn more" link user is redirected to chrome://extensions page. Attached the screen-cast of the same. Steps followed: 1. Navigated to chrome://extensions and enabled developer mode. 2. Loaded an unpacked extension (Sample used is attached). 3. Exit the Chrome browser. 4. Launch the browser. 5. Observe the Dialog displayed on right top of the browser screen. 6. Click on the link "Learn more". Observations -- User is redirected to chrome://extensions screen. And the same behavior is observed from Chrome #45.0.2454.85. @ihvarfner -- Are you suggesting that the user should be redirected to "https://support.google.com/chrome/answer/2811969" upon clicking on "Learn more" link in the dialog appeared. Please let us know if we have missed anything. Thanks.

@pnangunoori Yes, that help article is very relevant to the dialog. But I've looked through the code and it seems like there is a "chrome::kRemoveNonCWSExtensionURL" URL constant that links to that article through a redirecting URL (https://support.google.com/chrome/?p=ui_remove_non_cws_extensions). That one should probably be used instead. That means line 62 of "chrome/browser/extensions/dev_mode_bubble_delegate.cc" should be changed to > return GURL(chrome::kRemoveNonCWSExtensionURL); Looking through the git log it seems like this issue has always existed (if learn more wasn't implemented outside the browser/extensions or wasn't using URL constants). The issue is also platform and arch independent.

Thanks, ihvarfner@! I agree that this is a pretty unhelpful link. The one you mentioned (https://support.google.com/chrome/?p=ui_remove_non_cws_extensions) is certainly better, but also not quite accurate, since that's referring to disabled extensions (and we didn't disable any with the dev mode dialog). We have a few options here: - Use https://support.google.com/chrome/?p=ui_remove_non_cws_extensions, since it's reasonably close. - Find (or make) a better link (jawag@, do you know of any?) - Remove the learn more button entirely. 0.35% of users click on this when the bubble is shown. +a few people for thoughts.

friendly ping -> ainslie@. Any opinions here?

+also srahim@, since if we can clean up the language in the bubble, maybe it's more likely we don't *need* a learn more link :)

I'm not aware of any better link. Given the low traffic, removing the link SGTM especially if we can make the bubble wording more helpful.

We really should fix this. If no one has objections, I'm going to just remove the learn more link in a couple days.
