Extensions not found when using search settings tool

Reported by blake....@gmail.com, Jul 21 2017

Issue description

UserAgent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/59.0.3071.115 Safari/537.36

Steps to reproduce the problem:
1. Click customize and control vertical ellipsis
2. Click Settings
3. Use Search Tool to find Extensions and nothing is found

What is the expected behavior?
For the page to bring you to something like chrome://extensions/

What went wrong?
Your team somehow made it so that searching settings for extension settings was not possible. I cannot even begin to describe how many calls I've gotten from novice users who had previously been able to purge their unwanted extensions and knew how.

WebStore page: Chrome Browser Current Version

Did this work before? Yes Not sure what version you moved this into "MORE TOOLS" and then "EXTENSIONS" but nobody looks there

Chrome version: 59.0.3071.115 Channel: stable
OS Version: 10.0
Flash Version:

Please fix this on behalf of your novice users and those who support them.

@blake.cgc -- Thanks for reporting the issue. In order to switch to UI as in the earlier versions, we need to disable the Flag - ‘Enable Material Design settings’ in “chrome://flags”.

Please follow the steps below:
1. Navigate to 'chrome://flags/'.
2. Search for the Flag ‘Enable Material Design settings’.
3. Disable the mentioned setting.
4. Relaunch the browser.
5. Now click on the vertical ellipsis button “Customize and control Google Chrome” button.

You can find Extensions on the left side of the screen.

Please let us know if we have missed anything or any other information is required.

Thanks.

I can apply this fix for my clients for now but I feel the issue is still
problematic "as is" for the general populace and support at Large.

Thanks!

Assuming this as feature request, changing the status to untriage, so that the issue would be addressed.

Thank you.
