PDF support on iOS11. |
||||||||||
Issue descriptionOn iPads with iOS11 that have pdfs saved on disk, long pressing Chrome's icon results in a popup showing the PDFs. Tapping on a PDF in this popup does nothing. This popup is probably due to the fact that Chrome registered pdfs in the CFBundleDocumentTypes.

BTW, if there's a better bug component than Internals>Plugins>PDF, please use that. as the PDF plugin usually refer to the PPAPI one that is not available on mobile platforms.

justincohen: Should Chrome be registering for pdf in CFBundleDocumentTypes ? We can also close this as WontFix if this is working as intended.

srikanthg@ I can't reproduce this on my iOS12 iPad -- is this still a thing? Long pressing seems to put Springboard in the 'delete app' mode.

Not longer able to reproduce with Chrome on iOS11, 12. Chrome just wiggles on long press. Other apps which supports PDFs are showing the popup menu correctly. And selecting an item from the popup menu launches the app the performs the desired action. Should we support this Chrome for PDF file types? https://drive.google.com/corp/drive/u/0/folders/1e46QAq6xeqe7tB6_EFrWk8I3XeAJGnzZ

I'm reading jif@'s bug report as that when iOS11 came out, Chrome was showing the pdf window on long press. This no longer happens, so marking as WontFix. |
