Don't print blank pages at the end of a print job, and exclude them from numbering. |
||||
Issue descriptionSometimes a print job can result in blank pages being printed out at the end. It would be a better user experience if the blank pages were automatically excluded from the print job and from the page numbering.

@2, could you please star the bug if you haven't already? Thanks!

Q1. Do we want to do this for PDFs or just webpages? Q2. We would only do this when the print setting is "all pages", right? Otherwise, if the page range is explicitly set to 1-4, one would expect 4 pages to come out, even if page 4 is blank. To print webpages, renderers first have to figure out how many pages of paper a webpage renders to. Then it renders each individual page. For this to work, it would have to: - Render the last page first. (Need to check if that is possible) - Detect if the page is blank. (A bit more work) - Adjust the page count. (Because more work has to be done, this will slow down print preview generation slightly.)

Maybe we can do this if we ever try adding a "simply printing" feature. (again) |
