Occulus Rift Not Loading Web VR

Reported by carlo_ab...@skillsoft.com, Jul 18 2017

Issue description

UserAgent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:54.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/54.0

Steps to reproduce the problem:
1. Open Web VR Content e.g. https://aframe.io/examples/showcase/helloworld/

What is the expected behavior?
When clicking the goggles icon the content is rendered on the Occulus headset.

What went wrong?
The Occulus just says:

Loading...

and then

chrome.exe is taking longer than normal...

Did this work before? N/A

Does this work in other browsers? Yes

Chrome version: 56.0.2910.0 (Developer Build) WebVR v1.1 Channel: beta
OS Version: Windows 10
Flash Version:

NVIDIA drivers are all up to date. The content is displayed from Firefox Nightly on this computer.

carlo_abelli@, thank you for the report. Can you please update your chrome browser to latest stable#59.0.3071.115 and see if the issue still exists?
carlo_abelli@ You could refer to these issue:
https://github.com/toji/chrome-webvr-issues/issues/146
https://github.com/toji/chrome-webvr-issues/issues/147
pls downgrade your nvidia driver and have a try
I am using that version of Chrome because it is recommended on the WebVR page here: https://webvr.info/get-chrome/

Downgraded the nvidia driver to 378.92 as recommended and no difference. Note that I do not see chromium crash. Just that the VR scene on the computer goes gray and the loading sign in the headset appears. Taking off the goggles shows the VR scene again on the computer.
