gets a bit interesting to support the myriad of settings:
- ControlMaster: auto == check via ssh-askpass
- ControlPath: require some unique prefix like /ControlPath/ or something so we can catch all the filesystem accesses
- ControlPersist: need to pass to the background page somehow
