Issue descriptionUserAgent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; Win64; x64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/59.0.3071.115 Safari/537.36 Steps to reproduce the problem: 1. Go to http://www.ivank.net/veci/png_test.html What is the expected behavior? What went wrong? Both images should look the same. They do look the same on my phone, but they look different on my Windows laptop. Did this work before? N/A Does this work in other browsers? N/A Chrome version: 59.0.3071.115 Channel: stable OS Version: 6.1 (Windows 7, Windows Server 2008 R2) Flash Version: Shockwave Flash 26.0 r0 The PNG image has the sRGB color mode (sRGB chunk has the value of 1). First example: it is inserted using the IMG element. Second example: the binary PNG file is loaded and parsed with JS (ignoring any color mode). Original color values (0-255) are copied to the 2D context of the canvas. Since the PNG has sRGB mode specified, and the color space of the canvas also should be sRGB, both images should look the same.

Hi, what do you mean? The URL http://www.ivank.net/veci/png_test.html contains HTML and PNG image. You can copy it, if you want.

ivan.kuckir@ I cannot reproduce the bug on Chrome stable 60.0.3112.78 and canary 62.0.3168.0 on Windows 10. Both images are visually the same and colors are equal with color picker. Please attach a screenshot of the images on your notebook.

I am sorry, I bought a new laptop and they look the same now. But they did look different on my previous laptop. I guess, that <img> is processing colours through OS somehow.

I'll keep an eye on this. I'll set this bug to WontFix for now. Please feel free to re-open the bug if you see the problem again.
