Issue descriptionUserAgent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/58.0.3029.110 Safari/537.36 Steps to reproduce the problem: 1. Middle click an (external?) link on a page 2. Watch as the URL appears in the status bar; a click dismisses it What is the expected behavior? Dunno if this is a bug or expected behavior, but it's annoying. A flag to stop it would be nice. What went wrong? 1. Middle click an (external?) link on a page 2. Watch as the URL appears in the status bar; a click dismisses it Did this work before? Yes Chrome version: 58.0.3029.110 Channel: n/a OS Version: Flash Version: Shockwave Flash 26.0 r0

Thanks for raising the bug. I'm a little confused by the behavior you are describing and I can't reproduce it. When you hover over a link, it should appear in the status bar - no middle click required. If you move the mouse away from the link (whether you have clicked it or not), the status bar should disappear within a second or so. Are you seeing something different? Are you able to capture a video of the behavior you are describing?

Thanks for replying! My issue is when you're on a page, say Facebook. You see a link in your feed. You middle click it (mouse wheel button) to open it in a new tab. Once you do, the URL of the new tab (opened via the middle click) shows up in the *current* tab, ie Facebook. Let me know if I need to be more descriptive!

An update, so far I've only been able to reproduce this on Facebook, so it may be something they're doing.

This is weird. Now I can reproduce this on single left clicking a 'go to latest post' icon on a vBulletin forum. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ef6QtraabC0&feature=youtu.be
