Reported by wals...@gmail.com, Jul 14 2017

Issue description

Chrome Version : <from About Google Chrome/Chromium>
URLs (if applicable) :
OS version : <from About This Mac>
Behavior in Safari (if applicable):
Behavior in Firefox (if applicable):

What steps will reproduce the problem?
(1)Go to https://developer.chrome.com/extensions/getstarted
(2)Follow Instructions to download files and run in chrome extensions
(3)Press the extension icon. It fails.

What is the expected result?
I believe it is supposed to access your Google Image Search API.

What happens instead?
Error.
I believe the issue is that the API has been deprecated and the code does not reflect it. I believe we should be using the Google Custom Search API.

Tested this issue on Mac 10.12.5 with Canary #61.0.3156.0, Created the extension file as per steps mentioned in the url "https://developer.chrome.com/extensions/getstarted".

Observed on clicking extension icon, it didn't fetch any images, since this issue is related to API, adding "TE-NeedsTriageHelp" for further triage.

Attaching the screen-cast for reference.
