cras process using 100% CPU with external bluetooth speaker

Reported by realgran...@gmail.com, Jul 13 2017

Issue description

UserAgent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; CrOS x86_64 9592.42.0) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/60.0.3112.52 Safari/537.36
Platform: 9592.42.0 (Official Build) beta-channel cave

Steps to reproduce the problem:
1. connect a bluetooth speaker
2. use it with other devices throughout the day
3.

What is the expected behavior?
no 100% load on CPU

What went wrong?
cras process uses 100% cpu emitting heat and draining battery

repeated calling:

ppoll([{fd=19, events=POLLIN}, {fd=21, events=POLLIN}, {fd=24, events=POLLIN}, {fd=3, events=POLLIN}, {fd=12, events=POLLIN}, {fd=17, events=POLLIN}, {fd=18, events=POLLIN}, {fd=15, events=POLLIN}, {fd=13, events=POLLIN}, {fd=27, events=POLLIN}], 10, NULL, NULL, 8) = 1 ([{fd=27, revents=POLLERR|POLLHUP}])
clock_gettime(CLOCK_MONOTONIC_RAW, {267188, 846186799}) = 0

immediately enters 100% load state after connecting the device and/or killing the process.

Will try to catch the full trace log later.

Did this work before? N/A

Still an issue?

"2. use it with other devices throughout the day". What were the other devices?

I will be able to check if it is still the issue the next week;

Steps to reproduce (I suspect other reproducers possible):

1. have a BT speaker that supports multiple devices (e.g. JBL Xtreme)
2. connect the speaker to chromebook
3. play some sounds
4. use another device to play music with BT speaker

-. Observe the CPU load on chromebook gone to 100%, chromebook overheated and powered down
-. restarting cras does not help to fix the issue, the sound output to BT speaker is laggy but working
-. to fix the issue you must switch off BT on chromebook
-. whenever BT is back again (if the chromebook survived overheating) - the issue returns immediately after chromebook connects to the speaker

Thanks for reproducing. Do you know who we can assign this to in order to get it fixed?
Status: WontFix (was: Assigned)
Sorry. It was a typo in #6. I could not reproduce this. Please reopen and file a feeback report if anyone can reproduce this.
