Able to reproduce the issue on Windows 7,10 & Linux Ubuntu 14.04 using latest stable#59.0.3071.115 &Canary#61.0.3154.4. No task manager appeared upon clicking Shift+Esc for the below URL's 1. https://goo.gl/kAUzNS 2. Google.com This is non regression issue observed from M45 builds, keeping it as Untriaged to get more inputs from dev. Please find the attached screencast for reference. Note:Task manager appeared for the Trello.com, https://www.youtube.com/, https://www.yahoo.com and other webpages. Thanks..!!

This is not a regression. If the website chooses to handle Shift+Esc somehow, it can, and the accelerator will be consumed by the webcontents. That's why on Chrome OS, we deprecated Shift+Esc and replaced by Search+Esc, since accelerators with the Search key as a modifier cannot be stolen by anything else but the OS. I'm tempted to mark this as a WontFix, but I will delegate this to pkasting@ to decide if Chrome browser should do something as we did on Chrome OS, i.e. to use a shortcut that cannot be stolen by apps, webcontents, ... etc.

Unfortunately I don't think there's any cure we can do here that's not worse than the disease. |
