Looks like libappindicator1 is available on 16.04: https://packages.ubuntu.com/xenial/libappindicator1 OP: what's the output of: $ sudo apt-get update $ dpkg -l | grep libappindicator

I have no idea what "Ubuntu Software" is doing, but "dpkg -i" is not expected to resolve package dependencies for you.
,

Ah, I didn't notice the 'dpkg -i'. Does it work if you try to install with 'gdebi' instead?

@thestig ah, that makes sense. I think this is probably just user error. Closing this out for now. OP, if you're still unable to resolve the issue, please post back here

"... Does it work if you try to install with 'gdebi' instead?" Yes. Using gdebi fixes libappindicator dependencie problem during gdebi install (sudo apt-get install gdebi) :-) |
