Issue descriptionUserAgent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10_12_5) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/59.0.3071.115 Safari/537.36 Steps to reproduce the problem: 1. Start Chrome by doing mkdir /tmp/chrome /Applications/Google\ Chrome.app/Contents/MacOS/Google\ Chrome --profile-directory=/tmp/chrome 2. Watch GPU usage and temperature. What is the expected behavior? GPU usage to be not much above normal levels. Laptop to stay cool. What went wrong? GPU remains actively used even though CPU usage seems to be low. Bottom left hand corner of laptop starts becoming warm and rises in temperature. Did this work before? Yes Chrome version: 59.0.3071.115 Channel: stable OS Version: OS X 10.12.5 Flash Version: Closing Chrome shows the GPU usage reducing and the temperature sensor near the GPU start showing progressively lower temperatures. Monitoring is being done using the XRG tool.

I've since had to upgrade and reboot to 10.12.6 (16G29) which seems to have solved the problem for Chrome just starting up and sitting on its search page. Only specific pages seem to cause the temperature to rise dramatically now (although Chrome just idling on the default tab there does apparently raise the GPU percentage but not tempearture).
