Issue descriptionUserAgent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; CrOS x86_64 9460.60.0) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/59.0.3071.91 Safari/537.36 Platform: Chrome Steps to reproduce the problem: 1. Go to settings 2. Remove unwanted search engines 3. What is the expected behavior? When I go to Drive, know Drive then becomes a Search Engine. When on Facebook, FB is then listed as a search engine. 'Google' is Default, then 'Bing'. Have found 6 listed. What went wrong? Have no idea. Have left my Chromebook, signed out of all sites. Return hours later to find Yahoo, AOL, Ask, listed as Search engines without me using pc. Did this work before? N/A Chrome version: 59.0.3071.91 Channel: n/a OS Version: 9460.60.0 Flash Version: Shockwave Flash 26.0 r0 Chronic crashing when I'm posting a photo or video on Facebook. Does syncing all have to be continous, could this add to issue?

The engines you mention (Yahoo!, AOL, Ask) are all defaults for much of the world in ship in Chrome without you visiting any sites. These don't cause crashes. To report a crash bug, see https://www.chromium.org/for-testers/bug-reporting-guidelines/reporting-crash-bug . We won't be providing a way to disable auto-addition of search engines.

They don't cause crashes, but the chromebook freezes with multiple search engines. Have to shut it down,go to settings, remove Facebook, Drive, Yahoo, AOL, leaving Google, to return ro goo performance. Drive is a 'Search Engine' the world uses?

I am very skeptical that having these engines present is the root cause of the performance issues you're seeing. If you're having performance issues, I suggest filing a bug saying Chrome is freezing and describing exactly when/how, and offer to capture trace data for a developer to see where the slowdown is actually occurring. |
