Issue descriptionUserAgent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/59.0.3071.115 Safari/537.36 Steps to reproduce the problem: 1. Have a large number of tabs open (IIRC I had around 140, with many in incognito mode and spread throughout several windows -- Chrome was using around 8–10 GB of RAM at that point) 2. Go to chrome://settings and click "Use Classic" (under Appearance/Themes) 3. Observe that Chrome is frozen: pressing ctrl-tab, ctrl-T etc. update the window title, but no content within any Chrome window updates. One CPU core is also being held at 100%. 4. Attempt to open a new tab via the Ubuntu launcher 5. Crash Chrome What is the expected behavior? I would expect theme changes to be unaffected by how many Chrome tabs I have open. What went wrong? Changing theme when there are many tabs open in many windows causes the browser to hang for several minutes, then crash (possibly as a result of another window being opened). Crashed report ID: How much crashed? Whole browser Is it a problem with a plugin? N/A Did this work before? N/A Chrome version: 59.0.3071.115 Channel: stable OS Version: Ubuntu 16.04 Flash Version: 26.0.0.131 No crash report; my client_id is 8472748229411574932 (per https://sites.google.com/a/chromium.org/dev/for-testers/bug-reporting-guidelines/reporting-crash-bug)
