Issue descriptionUserAgent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10_12_5) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/59.0.3071.115 Safari/537.36 Steps to reproduce the problem: 1. Go to menu > Cast 2. Attempt to click outside of it. Notice that modal dialog simply pulses but does not close What is the expected behavior? It is standard behavior that clicking outside of a modal dialog will close it, so I would expect this to behave the same. What went wrong? It is annoying to have to manually close the dialog after casting a tag, and to have to do so by clicking on a tiny X Did this work before? Yes Prior to material redesign Chrome version: 59.0.3071.115 Channel: stable OS Version: OS X 10.12.5 Flash Version: Shockwave Flash 26.0 r0

Tested this issue uisng latest stable #59.0.3071.115 on Win 10, Mac 10.12.4 and Linux Ubuntu 14.04 and able to reproduce the issue. Note: 1. Observing the same behavior since M52 and unable to check the issue in M51 or <M51 as those builds doesn't have the cast feature in settings menu. 2. This seems to be intended behavior as same behavior is seen in many overlays. 3. Considering this issue as Non-Regression issue and untriaging the issue to get more inputs from dev. 4. Issue is observed in M61 as well. 5. Removing Bisect label as this is a Non-Regression issue. Thanks!!

> It is standard behavior that clicking outside of a modal dialog will close it, so I would expect this to behave the same. Clicking outside of a non-modal dialog should close the dialog. A modal dialog requires that you interact with the controls inside of it. This cast dialog is modal (although a modal dialog should not have a close box).

Whatever you want to call it, as a user, the behavior is annoying. Or do you disagree there?

Agreed that the current behavior is not expected. We will address this as part of UI redesign, so closing this specific bug. |
