Install Chrome Canary and replace it's CDM with 1.4.8.1006. Start it. Go to ats.sandbox.google.com. Open dev console. Hit "Start Test" button in "New Test" box.

See the following error in the dev console:

hmchen: Is there any known issue with CDM 1006?
This issue seems not related to any known issues (VMP threading, Unverified VMP status).

I tested on my machine with 61.0.3149.0 (32 bit) + 1.4.8.1006 + Win 10, and it works.

Hi @crouleau, can you provide more details:

1) Are you using 64bit Chrome Canary?
2) Which Media file did you play? e.g., L3_video.mp4.mpd?
Status: WontFix (was: Available)
I re-downloaded the CDM and it seems to be a different file now (it has a different file size)... I will look into this further, but it looks like this was a false alarm.
no repro from steps as listed.

Chrome Version: 61.0.3150.0
CDM version: 1.4.8.1006
