The fix for  issue 593835  had the side effect of disabling subpixel anti-aliasing for the profile picker. I think this is because we use a custom NSButtonCell. Refactoring to not do that, or to override fewer NSButtonCell drawing methods, should bring subpixel AA back without the fringing seen in that issue.
