@pnangunoori@chromium.org The right click context menus are much better. Though, when right clicking a text input box (I can't remember the official name but in Android it is an 'EditText' view), I don't get any context menu, so pasting text still requires 'ctrl+v'. The browser still displays the mobile web pages rather than desktop. Also, when hovering over items within the web page, the pointer does not update correctly, it requires me to click on the view object for it to display the website developers intended pointer icon, and then to restore the default pointer icon, I have to click again, but this time on open space within the page. The app's native UI has support for mouse pointer updates now, which is good. I still think that it needs to display a bookmarks bar like on other desktop OS' to improve the UX has it will provide quick access to frequently used pages, rather than the current solution which is to navigate through multiple menus before you find the applicable page, by which point, you probably would have gotten to it quicker by just manually navigating to the web page. In return for my feedback, do you think that you could speak to the applicable people about not removing my app from the play store as it requires the accessibility service to enable many commonly used desktop functions to work within Android: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.touchtechnologies.dexprofile It has no internet permissions, so I'd assume that is good enough to prove that it has no bad intentions. It is clearly considered a useful and powerful tool to many, so I think that many users will be upset if Google remove this from the Play Store: https://androidcommunity.com/desktop-hub-app-improves-your-experience-with-samsung-dex-20171031/

Adding the label 'TE-NeedsTriageFromMTV' as the issue needs Samsung DeX to reproduce.

I think this is a feature request bug. The DeX mode for chrome canary is currently not supporting many mobile app features including; Contextual search, Open in Incognito tab, open new tab,...

The many improvements that will come from the DeX optimisations will also help to enhance the tablet UX, and I'm sure as you know, many will choose an iPad over an Android tablet because the Android tablet UX appears to be an afterthought, and within any OS, the browser UX is the front and center, if delivered well, then the OS' UX will just grow in popularity.

I can no longer provide feedback as I now work on a competing products UX and of course I don't think that it would be best for me to share my UX improvements with a competing product. Though to be fair, Chrome for Android on larger screens has pretty much no attention anyway now that Google is trying to kill Android tablets in favour of Chrome OS alledgedly. |
