SVG text is hard to read in print (looks fine on screen)

Reported by gti...@wikimedia.org, Jul 4 2017

Issue description

UserAgent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/59.0.3071.86 Safari/537.36

Example URL:
https://wikimedia.org/api/rest_v1/media/math/render/svg/b1387e819274bb5fc07fc963d4e45746dc02d87e

Steps to reproduce the problem:
1. Visit https://wikimedia.org/api/rest_v1/media/math/render/svg/b1387e819274bb5fc07fc963d4e45746dc02d87e
2. print to PDF
3. inspect

What is the expected behavior?
Formula is easy to read (just like it is on screen)

What went wrong?
The glyphs are too thick and too close to each other, making the formula hard to read.

(Other browsers: Firefox 54.0 gives slightly better results, still ugly though)

See attachment (screen on top, PDF bottom; there seemed to be a slight quality reduction for both when taking the screenshot, but the problem is still clearly visible)

Does it occur on multiple sites: N/A

Is it a problem with a plugin? No

Did this work before? N/A

Does this work in other browsers? N/A

Chrome version: 59.0.3071.86 Channel: stable
OS Version: Ubuntu 16.04, 4.4.0-79-generic
Flash Version:

You can see the SVG formula in context at https://en.wikipedia.org/api/rest_v1/page/html/Trigonometric_functions/786502127/b6a86e87-5c3c-11e7-8c58-4aa2037098cf
The page looks very bad when printed to PDF.

Able to reproduce the issue using #59.0.3071.86 on, Linux Ubuntu 16.04, Mac 10.12.5, Win 10 as well.

Observing the same behavior since M45. Hence considering this issue as Non-Regression issue and untriaging to get input's from dev.

Same behavior is seen in M61 as well.

Thanks!!

Even the print preview looks odd, so printing is not actually required.

Does the Skia team have any insight as to what might be happening here? Please add any info that might help us fix it then reset the bug component back to Paint. Or continue to own if if this is a Skia problem (though I doubt that).
