This looks like a GURL/icu bug, as it affects document.location="http://ißleib.de" as well (And the URL change happens before the URL makes it to the network stack). CCing icu and GURL owners. There doesn't seem to be a dedicated label for either area. :(

And I don't think we need feedback? This issue is trivial to reproduce, as comment #1 indicates.

As said above, the issue is trivial to reproduce. Even though the URL appears correctly in the URL bar as ißleib.de, pressing Enter actually selects the first entry from the dropdown menu, the one that is highlighted, issleib.de, which is not the desired behavior. See attached screenshot. Also adding Omnibox label for more visibility.

Sadly, this is a duplicate of an old bug intentionally marked as WontFix by jshin@, who said he's reconsider the policy in late 2017 after firefox completes some experiments. |
