We have recently discovered that Google Now was broken for a few months for majority of users and no one complained about it.
This is mostly because the experience was sub-par and not where we want it to be.
From further looking at it, we discovered that most interactions of users were accidental (e.g. scrolling down). Meaning that the feature caused more damage than good to our users.
We want to ship awesome experiences, we have removed Google Now cards with its current implementation from the Launcher. We will also evaluate other alternatives that will work better and provide great user experience in the longer term.
This bug is a tracking bug for completing the cleanup of the broken Google Now code in chromeOS.

From further looking into it, we discovered that the feature was barely used and that most interactions of users were accidental (e.g. scrolling down). Meaning that the feature caused more damage than benefit to our users.
