Beta caroline that was changed to stable channel not getting stable updates

Project Member Reported by derat@chromium.org, Jun 29 2017

Issue description

I have a beta-channel caroline device that I was trying to (lazily) switch to the stable channel. I changed its channel to stable at chrome://settings/help/details a few weeks ago.

I currently see the following at chrome://version:

Google Chrome	59.0.3071.82 (Official Build) beta (64-bit)
Platform	9460.57.0 (Official Build) beta-channel caroline

Per Goldeneye, the stable channel is now using 9460.67.0 / 59.0.3071.113, i.e. both the OS and Chrome versions have exceeded what I have. chrome://help reports that no updates are available, though.

I would've expected this device to get a stable update as soon as the stable version exceeded the beta version. Will I not get an update until stable gets M60 instead?

Alternately, is caroline stable held back to an older version? The release notes at https://chromereleases.googleblog.com/2017/06/stable-channel-update-for-chrome-os.html only mention samus being held back.

Hi Dan, there wasn't a stable M59 release for caroline. Thus things are functioning properly in terms of your updates.
