Issue descriptionUserAgent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/59.0.3071.115 Safari/537.36 Steps to reproduce the problem: 1. Open Windows Magnifier (it's always open on my PC) 2. Open Google Chrome 3. Try to write some text anywhere (including this bug report or the address bar) What is the expected behavior? Magnifier should follow the text insertion point, just like your eyes follow what you're writing. What went wrong? Magnifier won't follow the text insertion point, forcing you to move the mouse to follow what you're writing. If you think I'm doing something wrong, know that I've used Magnifier every day since the days of Windows '98. I know all its settings and quirks. The Magnifier works perfectly with Firefox and Internet Explorer and it kinda works with Edge (if you restart Magnifier after starting Edge). But it NEVER worked with Chrome. I've been a long time happy user of Firefox, but the Mozilla browser is getting slow and Chrome won the popularity contest. I want to switch to Chrome, but having to move my mouse all the time when writing something on the web is so frustrating and such a drag on my productivity. So thank you, Google, for ignoring low-vision Windows users for so many years ! Did this work before? No Chrome version: 59.0.3071.115 Channel: stable OS Version: 10.0 Flash Version:

Able to reproduce the issue using latest stable #59.0.3071.115 on Win 10. Observing the same behavior since M30. Untriaged the issue to get more inputs from Dev. Issue is seen in M61 as well. Thanks!!

I'm writing this from Chrome version 61.0.3163.91. The issue is fixed! I tried imputing text in several websites and Windows Magnifier does follow text insertion now! Thank you to the kind people from the Chrome team who fixed this! I can now finally switch to Chrome! We can consider this bug squashed!

Yay! The chromium / Chrome team has been paying more attention to accessibility these days. I'm glad it's appreciated. Closing as Fixed. |
