Server Error is displayed when trying to link @chromium.org and @google.com accounts

Project Member Reported by nnita@chromium.org, Jun 27 2017

Issue description

Hi there,

I'm trying to link my @chromium.org and @google.com accounts using these steps.
(Googler) Link @chromium.org & @google.com accounts

Login into https://chromium-review.googlesource.com using your @chromium.org account.
If you are using the new UI (should be the default for new accounts):
Click on the circle with your profile picture on the top-right of the page, then choose Settings -> Email Addresses.
Enter your @google.com email address in the New email address field and click the Send Verification button. In your google.com mail, click the confirmation link.
Open Settings -> Email Addresses again and confirm that you have @google.com and @googlers.com addresses listed.

But, after I click on the confirmation link from google.com mail, I see the following error:
Server Error: Identity in use by another account.

I'm not sure why I'm seeing this error. Please help.

The Server error is displayed and as a result the accounts are not linked. Is there any additional step that I'm missing?

No, it's just buggy and not considered priority enough to fix.

Linked your accounts manually.
