code search becomes more and more inaccurate |
||||||||||||||||||||||
Issue descriptionSee the attach file for an example. Recently the code search gave inaccurate result more and more often, for example I typed the exact class name RenderFrameHost, hoping that at least src/content/public/browser/render_frame_host.h will show up as one of the results. However it didn't. Even test_render_frame_host.h and test_render_host.h showed up, while I don't see any reason why the later one was assumed to be a better match than render_frame_host.h. This seems like a regression and it happens many times. I would expect the result would be more accurate when I type the exact class/function name. Back to the day when I just joined the force it was pretty accurate and with the exact class/function name, the exact declaration/definition actually showed up at the top.

Thanks for the report and sorry about this. We have had a regression of suggestion quality and are aware of the issue. Assigning to Scott who may have more details. Scott: I thought we found a temporary solution (until we can migrate) with the increased search depth for the shards. Did this change recently?

This issue is related to the overall issues we had with code search in July. These have now been fixed. |
