ok I must add a new problem: bookmark store title page, and can't change it. When you add Démo live DSM; bookmark store the title page DSM Live Demo .. and for you (not display french page) search in omnibox work because you found title page. See my first screencast to see problem: Demo not work to find page, I use french language (page name is Démo...), and confirm new problem (must open new ticket for this? I manage my bookmark, it's not to search in title page, but just in my bookmark title) Chrome store title page, and bookmark name. It search on two field (but can't edit title page). For you it's work because found it in title page. see result. screencast 2: another test, name bookmark 'Fouxé à Joeuf', I can't change title. if search foux (I see result with accent).. but continue and type 'e' no result. type fouxé, it display the bookmark.. continue test with Démo (this not exist now in my bookmark), but see the bookmark with title page.

Able to reproduce the issue on windows 7, Ubuntu 14.04 and Mac 10.12.5 using chrome version 60.0.3112.32 and canary 61.0.3134.0. This is non regression issue as the issue seen from M40 old builds. Marking it as Untriaged to get more inputs from dev team. Thanks,

Thanks baudav@ for the detailed report. You're entirely right that the omnibox's feature to search bookmarks only does exact matches of terms, without any smart accent normalization. The reason this bug thread got confused sometimes is that the omnibox can also retrieve URLs that have been visited based on their page title. This may happen to bookmarked URLs. The searching bookmark feature, though, only searches the bookmark's assigned title, not the actual page title (which we may not even know if the bookmarked URL hasn't been visited).
