Support for additional buttons on Dictaphone PowerMic II ( USB MIC)

Project Member Reported by alu...@chromium.org, Jun 16 2017

Issue description

Chrome Version 58.

Using a Chromebook to Launch Citrix application Dragon Naturally speaking this USB Microphone is recognized as a microphone and can be used via the Citrix receiver on ChromeOS, however the additional buttons on the microphone DO NOT WORK.

See microphone picture here http://supportcontent.nuance.com/dragon/10/PowerMicII_Guide.pdf
Also attached the same guide.

Problem:

When pressing other buttons on this USB device, it is not recognized.

Questions:

1)Is the Chromebook passing the button click event correctly?

2) Is this something that needs to be supported by ChromeOS or will it also need support or updates with the Citrix receiver?

3) What kind of logs would help answer the questions above?

Set up on a pc involves installing client drivers for Nuance Dragon Medical One (DMO). These drivers speak to the citrix server via hdx to the corresponding DMO listener on the citrix server. This allows functionality of the mic, for example clicking the record button in the middle enables speech recognition in DMO.

The DMO software is installed and published on the Citrix server.

Our issue is that ChromeOS does not have the client piece. It does recognize the device as a mic and can be used to do speech recognition via citrix, but the buttons do not work. When you push the "record" button on the top, it should start capturing audio and stop when you release the button.

Here is what the buttons should be able to do
