I found the root cause of this bug: p::first-letter affects the text selection. See my minimal testcase.

Able to reproduce the issue on the latest canary(61.0.3138.0) & the latest stable(59.0.3071.109) on Windows-10, Mac OS 10.12.5 and Linux Ubuntu 14.04. Regressed in M-57. Last good build: 57.0.2942.0 First bad build: 57.0.2943.0 Changelog: =========== https://chromium.googlesource.com/chromium/src/+log/a253a1bb314e9563c8fc45d3bf6b9651855e0f45..5185769b9ba7e9239d68c7dc672a27dd19b1685f xiaochengh@: Could you please take a look at this. This is not a regression. We used to have two bugs negating each other. My CL fixed one of them. The text selection is correct if you check the value of window.getSelection(). The remaining bug is that selection painting doesn't work correctly with :first-letter -- it's shifted by the number of characters in :first-letter. |
