This seems to be working fine on the latest canary(61.0.3132.0) on Mac OS 10.12.5 as well. Probably Linux specific.

Unable to do bisect as chromium builds are not getting invoked in telugu language. Hence providing manual bisect Good Build: Bad Build: Cr: https://chromium.googlesource.com/chromium/src/+log/60.0.3101.0..60.0.3102.0?pretty=fuller&n=10000 Suspecting https://codereview.chromium.org/2883843004 from changelog. @estade: Please confirm the behaviour and help in re-assigning if it is not related to your change.

I can't repro on tip of tree. I also can't repro on dev (61) or beta (60). It might be a difference of what font you have installed. Perhaps your font is incorrectly reporting the width of the text?
