"Show taps" feature for Chrome OS

Project Member Reported by satorux@chromium.org, Jun 13 2017

Issue description

On Android, you can enable "show taps" feature [1] from developer options. I think it'd be good to have this feature for Chrome OS. That'd be very handy when recording videos for reporting bugs.

[1] https://developer.android.com/studio/debug/dev-options.html says """Enable Show taps to display taps when you touch the screen. A circle appears under your finger or stylus and follows you as you move around the screen. A tap works like a pointer when you Record a Video on your device."""

--show-touch-hud flag has similar feature. But it shows strokes of your touches rather than showing your touch points. It would be better if user can choose to show touch points or strokes.

You can try it by enabling show-touch-hud flag in chrome://flags
I like using touch projections. You can enable it via Ctrl+Alt+P
See video on how it looks like.

Didn't know about Ctrl-Alt-P!
Yeah, I think it's really unknown. At some point when I have a little more extra time I'll try and gather up a doc for "tips & tricks".
