Issue descriptionUserAgent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10_11_6) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/58.0.3029.110 Safari/537.36 Steps to reproduce the problem: 1. Set the RoamingProfileSupportEnabled option to true in group policy 2. Start Chrome, and set the "Continue Where You Left Off" option to restore your previously closed session. 3. Open up a set of tabs. 4. Close Chrome, and open on another PC. What is the expected behavior? Chrome should reload the previous session from the last PC. Chrome will properly load things like bookmarks, however the session never is saved in the roaming profile. What went wrong? Chrome on the second PC will load up a single "New Tab" instead of the previously closed session. The sessions across multiple PCs will not stay synced to the roaming profile Did this work before? No Chrome version: 58.0.3029.110 Channel: stable OS Version: Windows 7 Flash Version:

This is currently not happening because every computer accessing the roaming profile is seen as a separate entity with its own history. If you go to the history page you will see it is split among all separate computers sharing the roaming profile. I think it makes sense to consider this as it is a clearly a nice convenience feature but the current behavior is not a bug per se. +some more people from the Sync and enterprise teams in cc.

Thanks for your comments on this. I dug into it a bit deeper and I believe it looks like the actual session data itself does look to be saved to the roaming profile via the chrome://sync-internals page. So if this feature was to be added, it looks like the session information to do it would be available. If this feature isn't added, it would be nice to see some documentation or a relabeling of the "Continue where you left off" option when the user is running off a roaming profile. This was confusing to a lot of users in our enterprise environment when moving from computer to computer and this preference not working as expected for them. Thanks again for your consideration of this!

I agree that this is a nice-to-have (p3) unless there are other reasons why this is needed in the near term. We will keep this on our to-do list. Thank you,

Has this been addressed? I have users using Terminal Servers that need the functionality to "Continue where they left off" as part of their research. They can retain browser tabs when they close and reopen Chrome, but not when they log out and back in again. Also we have a GPO that removes profiles upon log out to save space, but their settings should upload to the file server hosting the profiles and follow them when they log back in.

Added note, we have the Roaming Profile GPO for Chrome enabled |
