Issue descriptionUserAgent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.3; Win64; x64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/61.0.3124.10 Safari/537.36 Steps to reproduce the problem: 1. Run Chrome with uBlock Origin installed/enabled. 2. Visit a website with ads. 3. Website renders in Chrome with ads, despite the existence of uBlock Origin. 4. Go to chrome://extensions, open uBlock Origin options. 5. All settings of uBlock Origin has been set to default, including custom filters which have been wiped out clean, rendering uBlock Origin ineffective and unable to block ads. 6. Enable all the options that has been enabled in uBlock Origins before and add custom filters. 7. Close Chrome. 8. Reopen Chrome, go to chrome://extensions, open uBlock Origin options, and all options are once again reset to default values, with most of them are disabled (unticked) and custom filters gone, wiped out clean again. What is the expected behavior? uBlock Origin and its options should not reset and its custom filters should not be wiped out whenever Chrome run. What went wrong? In Chrome 61.0.3124.10, uBlock Origin cannot keep its settings. WebStore page: https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/ublock-origin/cjpalhdlnbpafiamejdnhcphjbkeiagm?hl=ja Did this work before? Yes All versions before 61.0.3124.10 do not suffer from this bug. Chrome version: 61.0.3124.10 Channel: canary OS Version: 6.3 Flash Version:

Additional details: uBlock Origin can no longer update its filters. Whenever I tried to update its filters, it always failed to connect and download the updates.

Additional details: After testing some more, I discovered the worst flaw. Re-opening uBlock Origin options from chrome://extensions will always make its settings reset to default values and its custom settings wiped out. I thought closing and reopening Chrome was the only thing that reset uBlock Origin settings. Good Lord I was so wrong. Definitely needs a fix for this.

Somehow, I am unable to reproduce the issue on the reported version: 61.0.3124.10 on Windows-10. Ads were blocked correctly without any issues on https://in.style.yahoo.com/tagged/movies. johntristam@: Is there any specific site where the issue is seen?

I didn't even open a website to reproduce the issue. It's between Chrome/Canary and extensions. It's important to note that in 61.0.3130.0 all extensions with customizations or options such as uBlock Origin or Mosaic ALPHA lost their settings (i.e. always reset to default everytime Canary starts). Also, I'm on Windows 8.1 Pro. How to reproduce the bug: 1. Open Canary. 2. Go to chrome://extensions. 3. Open uBlock Origin options. The options/settings panel will be opened in a new tab. 4. Notice all the settings including the custom filters has been set to their default states (in case of custom filters, it's been wiped out). 5. Customize uBlock Origin again, including adding and updating filters and adding entries to custom filters. 6. Close Canary. 7. Open Canary again, then go to chrome://extensions. 8. Open uBlock Origin again. All settings has been set to default state again and all custom filters has been wiped out again. I send along screenshots including Canary version, uBlock origin and its settings in "Before" and "After" state. An explanation regarding screenshots: 1. Canary version is the current version of Canary I'm using now. 2. crbug-(uBlockOrigin*)-before screenshots are uBlock Origin states before 61.0.3124.10 update and after uBlock Origin has been customized again after 61.0.3124.10 update. 3. crbug-(uBlockOrigin*)-after screenshots are uBlock Origin states after 61.0.3124.10 update and after Canary is closed and reopened again after uBlock Origin has been customized. Notice all settings including custom filters has been reset/restored to their default states. 4. crbug-extensionspage is the screenshot of the extensions page (chrome://extensions)/ Also another note, I've tried Chrome (non-Canary) Dev version 61 and also Chrome Stable 59/60 and I couldn't reproduce the issue. So it might be exclusive to Canary? p.s. Nice bookmark scroller implemented in 61.0.3130.0 there! Too bad I have to deal with this extensions issue. Otherwise I'd make this my everyday, go-to browser. Hopefully it's the bookmark scroller that make it to Stable release and not the extension issue.

Tested this issue on Windows 10 with chrome #61.0.3131.0, followed the steps as mentioned in the comment #5. Observed on chrome restart, UBlock origin custom filters are not wiped. Attaching the screen-cast for reference. johntristam@ Could you re-try this scenario on clean profile with no apps/extensions and let us know your observations. Thank You...

It may be related, but Xmarks and Lastpass also resets at random as if it wer freshly reinstalled. It started couple days ago on Canary channel. Xmarks keeps asking me to login every few Canary starts (close browser, open browser)

Can confirm I am seeing this issue as well. LastPass prompts me for 2-factor auth every time I close and reopen the browser, even though I have the "remember for 30 days" option prompted. I have also lost all CSS and JS added to my custom CSS and JS injection extensions. I first saw this issue on June 14 or June 15.
