Fix highlight and spacing on selected network on OOBE |
||||||||
Issue description1. The highlight of the selected network is too dark in the existing UI. Please change the highlight to 5% #000 instead. 2. Please add spacing before the wifi icons. (see the attached screenshot) It should be 10 dp before the network icons. Please let me know if you have any questions.

OOBE design is different from the settings. Can we make customized changes just for OOBE?

We can. It is a pain to maintain. Are we 100% certain we want the look to be different between the two? If so, what priority should the effort be to support both UX designs?

Yes they should look different because the size of the windows and to be consistent with the rest of the oobe screens.

I'm not sure how window size matters, the font sizes are the same, but FWIW the default window sizes are actually pretty similar. Regardless this is pretty low on my priority list right now.

The issue of being inconsistent with the rest of the oobe screens is a concern for me. It's about the overall user experience of the product. The window size matter as the layout, use of space and padding changes according to the size. If you would like to talk about it further we can go over it together.

If you think this needs to be higher priority please discuss with rkc@, someone on his team may have more cycles to work on this, my queue is > 100 issues deep. I'm not trying to be difficult, but the current height is 47 pixels and the mock is 44 pixels, so... adding a mechanism to differentiate between the UIs so that we can shave 3 pixels from the height just doesn't seem super high priority to me. If we are happy with changing the height and padding in Settings to match, this would just be changing a few CSS vars which I would be happy to do.

Thanks Steven. I don't think we should change settings, as the problem is the the page being not consistent with the rest of the OOBE. I will check with @rkc.

I think this is not significant enough to require ongoing maintenance to support. Please reopen if you disagree. |
