Issue descriptionUserAgent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10_13_0) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/59.0.3071.86 Safari/537.36 Steps to reproduce the problem: 1. Try to save any file 2. Save dialog prompt asks "You have used the extension “.jpg” at the end of the name. The standard extension is “.jpg”." 3. It does this for any file and is bizarre new behavior What is the expected behavior? Should not be prompted with trivial questions about confirming the file extension type. What went wrong? Saving files went horribly wrong Did this work before? Yes Chrome version: 59.0.3071.86 Channel: beta OS Version: OS X 10.13.0 Flash Version: Shockwave Flash 26.0 r0 Fix this maybe?

Any url with extension ending in png, pdf or jpg I can reproduce it on. Is there some setting or flag in Chrome that somehow I might have triggered that would cause this? It seems odd either way that the file extension is already .jpg and it is telling me that is the standing and offering me to use .jpg or use .jpg that makes no sense. Let me know how I can isolate this issue and provide useful information

Tested this issue on latest stable #59.0.3071.86 on Mac 10.12.4 and was unable to reproduce the issue as per the steps mentioned in comment #0. Unable to test this issue on 10.13 High Sierra as we don't have any machine available here with India team. Hence passing this issue to MTV team. @MTV Team: Can someone from team please look in to this issue. Thanks!!!

I can reproduce this on 10.13. I did a Google image search for "puppies", opened a couple of images in new tabs, and hit Cmd+S to save them. At that point, the dialog appeared.
