Chrome Linux renders some combining characters as separate boxes |

Issue descriptionChrome Version: Version 59.0.3071.86 (Official Build) (64-bit) OS: Linux (both Fedora 26 and Ubuntu Trusty) What steps will reproduce the problem? (1) go to http://www.alanwood.net/unicode/combining_diacritical_marks.html or https://eeemo.net/ (2) look What is the expected result? zalgo text What happens instead? combining characters render as boxes after the letters This works fine on Firefox, Chrome Windows, and Chrome iOS. Looks like no font can be found that can render the glyphs. Over to drott for clarification.

(note the screenshots are of different texts because the site randomizes the combining characters)

As a workaround, it may help to specify a CSS font-family that has a large combining marks glyph coverage. |
