Thanks for reporting the issue. We could not repro this issue on Nexus 5X/7.0, Chrome Canary: 61.0.3115.0, with Settings>Developer Options>Webview Implementation>Chrome Canary.

Can you please provide bugreport/logcat, if possible?

Please check on Galaxy S7/7.0 - stable shows video, dev starts advertisement and shows error, canary shows an error

I've just checked on http://tvnwarszawa.tvn24.pl/informacje,news,zawyly-syreny-to-byly-cwiczenia-renegade-sarex-171,233643.html

marcin@mwiacek.com, what Android version are you using?
I tried on Galaxy S3 + Android 4.3, I don't see this bug.
But I do see this bug on Pixel XL.
the error seems because the video coded is not supported.
screenshot is attached.
watk@, can you take a look?

I don't see any errors on my pixel XL, canary. I'm suspecting a site issue.

Marcin, are you able to reproduce the issue, and then navigate to chrome://media-internals in a new tab, and save the copy the event log for the player?

Thanks

You have URLs, you have information, that S7 with Android 7.0 was used and you have info, that stable works & canary not.

This is 100% enough for reproducing and it shows clear, that problem is NOT in non-supported codec (or at least it was supported in stable version).

In #4 we additionally see something what look like desktop version...

I really don't understand situation.

I only have an S6, and I can't reproduce the problem on any of my devices.

Hmm, I expected more details in media-internals. It would be ideal if you could click "Download log" and attach that file.

Could you also attach the "variations" section of chrome://version/
