Error when uploading new patchset

Project Member Reported by mek@chromium.org, May 25 2017

Issue description

The last two patch sets I uploaded to https://chromium-review.googlesource.com/c/514426 seemed to have uploaded fine, but git cl upload seems to think they failed to push, giving me the following error:

remote: Processing changes: updated: 1 (\)
To https://chromium.googlesource.com/chromium/src.git
! [remote rejected] 1324e4a0a70a6863ed0ff2cdee9a8f68367ce2df -> refs/for/refs/heads/master%m=try_to_fix_build_issue,notify=NONE (error in Gerrit backend)
error: failed to push some refs to 'https://chromium.googlesource.com/chromium/src.git'

Error after CL description prompt -- saving description to /usr/local/google/home/mek/.git_cl_description_backup

Failed to create a change. Please examine output above for the reason of the failure.
Hint: run command below to diangose common Git/Gerrit credential problems:
  git cl creds-check

(btw, the error message seems to have a typo in "diangose" as well)

WOO THANKS we've been trying to get a replication of this for a while (duping this into the tracking bug). Do you have a timestamp for when exactly this happened?

Comment 4 by mek@chromium.org, May 26 2017

It didn't actually fail to upload, just gave those errors after succeeding. At 16:02 and 16:10 according to the time stamps in Gerrit.

Comment 5 by aga...@chromium.org, May 26 2017

Yeah, that's a large part of what we're looking for. It erroneously returns a 500 (error in Gerrit backend) even though it actually succeeded. Thanks for the timestamps.
