Page locks up browser UI for 5 seconds

Project Member Reported by pinkerton@chromium.org, May 23 2017

Issue description

Chrome Version: M60dev
OS: iOS 10.3.2, iPhone7

- go to http://www.musiciansfriend.com/#/memorial-day-coupon?icid=211678
- tap "filter" button
- tap "brands"

browser UI locks up, can't interact with the chrome or the page. Eventually it comes back to life.

Note this MemorialDay promotion will probably go away by this weekend so it's time-critical that we understand what's happening and create a reduced test-case.

Is this slow in Safari as well for you? I have a sample that I grabbed in the simulator, and the renderer process is pegged at 100% for a while, in both Chromium and Safari. My guess is that the website is just doing something slow.
I tried this in stock WKWebView and page also gets unresponsive, however it does not lock the UI. I will not have time to look at this today, but will test this with ios_web_shell tomorrow. Maybe the page DDOS host app with WKWebView callbacks?

Turns out this page does not lock whole UI. It only locks UIScrollView, which then prevents exiting from fullscreen in Safari and Chrome.

michaeldo@, as a fullscreen owner do you want to try figuring out what the page does to lock UIScrollView and fullscreen? The only thing we can do here is to file radar, so if it's very hard to find a narrow test case, then we can just file radar with the link.
Wonder if it's worth saving the webpage and seeing if it still repros so we don't lose it if the site changes.
