Issue descriptionSteps to reproduce the problem: 1. go to https://hypocampus.applications.uwa.edu.au/ 2. Browser should have asked for your location by the time map is displayed 3. Make sure you have cleared histore and deleted and homescreen shortcut What is the expected behavior? User should be asked for permission to track location data What went wrong? Chrome does NOT request permission but grants access. Firefox, Opera, Android Browser al ask permission. Chrome on desktop Windows DOES request Location permission Did this work before? Yes Not sure. (Before you blocked http:// access Does this work in other browsers? Yes Chrome version: 58.0.3029.83 Channel: stable OS Version: 7.00 Flash Version:

Works for me. Are you sure you haven't allowed it? If you allow it, Chrome remembers that so the user doesn't keep getting asked. I'm going to mark this as wontfix. If I'm missing something please let me know.

Ok Ben, Seeing is believing. I cleared all browsing data and deleted the shortcut and it didn't ask me. I see your Android is a major version higher and Chrome a couple of increments so I'll upgrade and try it. If you could "allow" then clear-browing-data and try again I'd be grateful?

Ok I'm stuck on 7.0 (Thanks Samsung) This time I: - 1) Cleared History 2) Wastebinned the homescreen shortcut 3) Restarted the phone Now I get a App Error telling that I must approve geolocation for the app to work but still NO permission request. Please give it another try at reproduction.

Tried w3schools and their geolocation example works so is this still a bug but a cache-resetting bug?

Pilot error. I finally got it to prompt. Sorry.

No problem, glad it's sorted out. Out of interest, what was the pilot error?

Too be honest Ben I didn't pin it down :-( 1) I was face with an App that just wouldn't work with Chrome watchPosition() failed with no-permission each time 2) Check Settings->App Settings->Location cleared it out 3) Deleted history 4) Restarted phone Still no joy 5) Tried to reproduce with w3schools by approving and them clearing history 6) Cold-booted phone 7) W3SCHOOLS worked as expected 8) Retried hypocampus in Chrome and it now prompted for Permission ???? All's well that ends.
