Images with max-width property are not displayed in content editable div

Issue description
Example URL:
Steps to reproduce the problem:
1. Open the attached html file in android chrome browser
2. Observe, the facebook images are not visible/rendered on the screen
3.
What is the expected behavior?
Images should be rendered.
What went wrong?
We are setting img {max-width:100%;height:auto;} property so that larger width images will automatically fit into the device screen width.
But with this property images in Table content("td" element) are not visible in the screen.
Does it occur on multiple sites: N/A
Is it a problem with a plugin? N/A
Did this work before? No
Does this work in other browsers? N/A
Chrome version: 58.0.3029.110 Channel: stable
OS Version: 6.1 (Windows 7, Windows Server 2008 R2)
Flash Version: Shockwave Flash 25.0 r0

Uploaded sample HTML to http://output.jsbin.com/poyalo This is an HTML spec/interop question. Not sure what part of the spec text covers it, but as for browser interop: Chrome, Firefox and Edge all hide the image when the window width gets small enough, while Safari shows it but on top of the text in a buggy-looking way. Safari is the odd one out and I'm inclined to believe it's the one in the wrong here. So I'm closing this as working as intended. Please provide some evidence that Chromium's behavior is in principle incorrect if you want us to take action. |
