Issue descriptionDevice name: From "Settings > About Chrome" Application version:58.0+ Operating system:7.0 URLs (if applicable):Amazon.in or any url shortener website Steps to reproduce: (1) I go to Amazon / url shortener link and try to shorten the link. (2)once shortened, I was easily able to copy that because there were options of cut copy paste which are no longer visible in chrome app Ver 58 and above. (3) Expected result:it should allow to copy Actual result:it doesn't come with any options even on long press.

@Prashanthpola Writing process in detail again for your simulation: Open Amazon.in in Chrome Ver 56 Now from the left menu, click on "Request Desktop site" Now, once the page is loaded in the desktop mode, I click on creating a shorten link. I long press that link, the options appear like "cut" "copy" "paste" "selectall" Attached is the screenshot When I repeat the above steps again in chrome ver 58 or above. On long press nothing appears, i.e. it doesnt give any options for cut copy paste or select all.

I am still waiting for this to resolve. Additional screenshots and steps are followed On long hold of text, it allows me to copy if the version is less than 58. If the version is 58+ where the drag feature is introduced, it doesn't let me copy the hyperlink ( see attached image ) Now after additional simulation, I found it I add a tab and return to the same tab, it allows to copy the hyperlink ( image attached ) Can you please fix this bug, if you want I can create a video as well next time.

Sorry, I was not able to reproduce your issue using Chrome 58.0.3029.124 on a Nexus 6P. FWIW, the reproduction (specifically, getting the SiteStripe component to show) requires signing into Amazon.com (or your local site) with an Amazon Associate account. Once I figured that out, I followed the steps in Comment 3 and got the attached screenshot. I was able to click the Copy button, and pasting elsewhere produced the expected link. If you have more information, please reply here, and I'll take a look at the bug again. |
