d3 displaying unwanted images

Issue description

Chrome Version       : 54 or above
URLs (if applicable) :
Other browsers tested:FireFox
  Add OK or FAIL after other browsers where you have tested this issue:
     Safari: PASS/FAIL (Version)
    Firefox: 40 or Above PASS 
         IE: PASS/FAIL (Version)

What steps will reproduce the problem?

What is the expected result?
Should display a graph with customised images when some fields are set in JSON file

What happens instead?
Images are being displayed(at every node) without setting those fields and are very large blocking the page

Please provide any additional information below. Attach a screenshot if
possible.

If the URL is confidential, would it be possible to share any sample testfile that repro this scenario to test from our end and confirm if this has regressed or not?
