AiS: Vertical spacing on Windows

Project Member Reported by emilyschechter@chromium.org, May 12 2017

Issue description

Adjust the vertical spacing a tiny bit more on Views. Super exact, I know.

Assigning to Max to create a spec for 2-line items.

Components: UI>Browser>Omnibox>AiS
One thing to keep in mind is that the "apparent" spacing is different than the actual spacing. By which I mean there is a bit of whitespace at the top and bottom of the font to allow for the ascent and descent. As a result, because different answers have different font sizes, the ascent/descent space varies. And then depending on which kind of answer you're looking at, the same amount of spacing can result in what looks like too much or too little space.

If your spec, Max, just calls for a little more or a little less spacing in all cases, that will be really easy to fix. If you want it to be more-or-less identical in all font cases, we may have to try to account for the font size when calculating the spacing.

Or maybe at some point we should just force all answers to use the same font. These variable size/font answers cause us a lot of grief.

Awaiting feedback from Max.
jdonnelly@,

Have you gotten feedback from Max on this topic?
Status: WontFix (was: Assigned)
No. I'm closing for now as I don't think this bug is doing anything useful. Whenever we get any new spacing specs from Max, I'll reopen this if we need somewhere to track the changes.
