I couldn't reproduce this, except that if you're in mirror mode, it will be upside down, which is expected.

If we want to support this scenario, we first need to define what is "tent mode", because there is no such mode right now.
Is this a terminology problem, or something else?

ASUS uses the term "Tent Mode" in multiple places on their website
https://www.asus.com/us/2-in-1-PCs/ASUS_Chromebook_Flip_C100PA/
https://www.asus.com/us/Laptops/ASUS-Chromebook-Flip-C302CA/

Samsung shows images of both tent and tablet mode
http://www.samsung.com/us/computing/chromebooks/12-14/xe513c24-k01us-xe513c24-k01us/

As does Acer
https://us-store.acer.com/laptops/chromebooks/chromebook-r-13-laptop-cb5-312t-k5x4

In any case, the tablet/tent displays can be oriented with hinge at the top or bottom and the display rotates accordingly.

Users expect that external monitors will follow the display orientation shown on the Chromebook.

Agree with c4's definition of tent mode. In ash, this would be touchview mode rotated 180 degrees.

Touchview has always used mirror mode when attached to an external monitor. Since the external display is not attached to the laptops accelerometers, it probably doesn't make sense to rotate both screens together.
