incorrect value of property 'selectionStart' of textArea element

Issue descriptionUserAgent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/58.0.3029.96 Safari/537.36 Steps to reproduce the problem: 1. https://jsfiddle.net/almarkov/e1q05hxp/ 2. focus on textArea and press 'Enter' few times(for example, 3) 3. input field shows selectionStart as 3 4. click outside textArea, so it loses focus 5. selectionStart value now is 1 What is the expected behavior? on any other browser selectionStart value stays 3 What went wrong? incorrect count of line breaks Did this work before? able to reproduce the issue on windows 7, Ubuntu 14.04 and Mac 10.12.4 using chrome version 58.0.3029.110.This is working fine on canary 60.0.3100.0.
